We recognised that, by tapping into and utilising our network of skilled nurses in Uganda, we could help provide the solution. The UK and Uganda have strong ties. Uganda has been a Commonwealth country since 1963. The official language of Uganda is English, which is essential for our nurses to come and work in the UK. By recruiting fully-trained and qualified nurses, midwives and care assistants from Uganda, not only do we help to tackle the UK’s healthcare crisis, we also help to tackle poverty and unemployment in Uganda.
42% of Uganda’s population live below the international poverty line of $2.15 a day. This amounts to 18.7 million poor people. Our mission is to help Ugandan nurses secure formal employment in the UK, giving them the opportunity to send remittances home to support their families and build a better future.
Our desired outcome is to create a win-win situation for both the UK and Uganda. We endeavour to tackle the healthcare crisis in the UK and tackle poverty rates in Uganda. Our desired outcome is to create a win-win situation for both the UK and Uganda. There is a deficit of healthcare workers in the UK, while there is a surplus of skilled labour in Uganda. It makes perfect sense to bring the two together. Care home residents in the UK will receive the levels of care they need and deserve, while Ugandan healthcare workers will gain a secure job, earn a decent living, and build a better future for their families
